Dr. Manish Kumar’s primary area of interest is Cancer Genetics. He has completed his post-graduation in Biotechnology from VIT University, Vellore. He did his post-graduate thesis from North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, on the project “Effect of Glutathione modulation in radio-sensitivity of cancer cells in vitro”.Thereafter, he joined as a Ph.D.scholar in the Department of Biotechnology, Assam University, Silchar. He did his doctoral research on a project entitled “Study on Somatic Variants by Deep Sequencing of Circulating Cell-Free DNA (cfDNA) From Liquid Biopsy in Head and Neck Cancer.”During his Ph.D. tenure, he was awarded direct SRF by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) in the year 2018.He studied the identification ofearly somatic variants in Head and neck cancer using a liquid biopsy approach in the Indian population. Duringhis research work, he has learned the analysis of sequencing data using the software-based application, as well as analysis of structural variation and protein homology modelling changes associated with the mutations. His work has been published in several national and international journals.
